Bharuch: There is no let-up in crocodile attacks on humans in Vadodara district. On Sunday, a 33-year-old man was pulled away by a crocodile in Diver village of Sinore taluka. Thakor Bachu Vasava, who was grazing his cattle on the bank of a river, was attacked by the reptile and dragged away in deep water.
Vasava's body was fished out later.
At least five people have died in the crocodile attacks in Narmada river in Vadodara and Bharuch districts in the past few months.

On Sunday morning, a five-feet long crocodile had also entered the premises of canal head power house at the Sardar Sarovar dam in Kevadiya Colony. It is believed that the crocodile made its way through the storm water drainage.
The employees immediately called rescue team of forest and other police personnel. The crocodile was caught after an hour-long effort and released near the dam.
According to official sources, at least 16 crocodiles have been rescued in Vadodara, Bharuch and Narmada districts in the past two months and released in Sardar Sarovar.
Bharuch district Collector had also asked the forest department and disaster management team to take advance precautionary measures in the event of crocodiles entering into public places during floods. A special team has also been formed to nab crocodiles by Bharuch disaster management team.
