Hesco chief seeks report, vows stern action

MIRPURKHAS - The Hesco chief has sought a detailed report into the death Rana Imran, the Assistant Lineman Hirabad Sub Division, who succumbed to electric shock while repairing a fault at a servant quarter in the premises of deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas office. 
Talking to The Nation on Monday, Saleem Jatt said that a stern action would be taken against the officials concerned in this regard.   It may be recalled that Rana Imran went to a servant quarter in the premises of deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas office for repairing a fault. During the repairing process, Imran received electric shock. He was rushed to emergency of Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead because of suffering severe electric shock.
Sources said that an influential person had allegedly occupied the quarter where a UPS was already installed. Sources further said that at the time of the incident, power supply was off due to the ongoing loadshedding. Talking to media, a sister of the deceased accused Hesco officials of tempering medical report to save the influential person. She demanded the authority concerned to ensure judicial inquiry into the incident.
When contacted, Hesco Mirpurkhas Division XEN Gulzar Dasti told that they have not yet received the medical report.
A Hesco official, on the condition of anonymity, told that Hesco officials were making efforts to spoil the case for saving the influential person who had occupied the servant quarter. The Hesco Director Safety had visited the site and met officials concerned to collect details of the incident and ordered to register an FIR.
However, no FIR was lodged till filing the report.
