The Vespa 946 is more than your average 125er scooter, because of two reasons: first of all, this machine comes with a very high price tag (for a scooter), and this is derived from fact #2, namely, it is more of a fashion statement than a mere commuter.
Slotting just under the €10,000 ($13,420) mark, it’s easy to understand that this two-wheeler is not exactly the most affordable commuter. However, there is so much more from Vespa, as the 946 Bellissima version was recently unwrapped, adding even more exclusive features to an already intriguingly scooter.

The machine has basically remained the same on a technical side, with the same peppy air-cooled 4-stroke engine capable of producing 11 hp, and standard ABS and ASR traction control. The 12”cast wheels with single-sided axle mount have also been retained, just like the LED lighting and the digital dash.

The seat however gets a makeover, with a beautifully-shaped new design, which remains however in the peculiar zone. As the initial iteration of the Vespa 946 was obviously aimed at redefining the term “stylish scooter”, it was only natural that the Bellissima carried on the tradition. More stylish than functional, the two-piece seat is complemented by the spare wheel carrier and its embroidered carrying case.

However, choosing the spare wheel as your accessory will destroy any luggage carrying capacity the Vespa 946 has with the added rear rack. With the design of the saddle and the lack of any underseat storage, carrying anything more than a small shoulder bag or backpack is impossible, but it looks like people getting the 946 only need their credit card.

Other accessories are available, such as a windscreen, similarly-themed and colored jet helmets, smartphone holder and more. The Vespa 946 Bellissima remains just as mesmerizing and intriguing like its first iteration, and in the end, if you can afford it, it’s definitely one scoot which will turn heads.
