Chandigarh, August 3
Chandigarh Overseas Private Limited was told to refund Rs 10 lakh and pay Rs 50,000 compensation for the mental agony caused due to delay in possession of residential flat to a city-based complainant. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has directed the company to also pay Rs 5,000 to the complainant towards the costs of litigation.

Munish Jindal, the complainant, alleged that under the “name & style of Design and Insignia of Industrial Knowledge (Fashion Technology) Park”, Sector 90, Mohali, launched by the opposite party, he booked a residential unit on May 2, 2013. The buyer development agreement was also executed between the parties.

The complainant paid an amount of Rs 10 lakh to the opposite party. The complainant alleged that he handed over all necessary documents for getting the flat financed from an authorised national bank.
