ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh chief secretary Ramesh Negi directed heads of various government departments to speed up investigations against gazetted officers against whom disciplinary proceedings are pending.
While reviewing the functioning of the vigilance department recently, Negi was told that major penalty proceedings are pending against 10 APCS officers, while three engineers are being investigated over disproportionate assets.
An APCS officer is under suspension, a press release said on Saturday. Negi said 'delinquents' will have to be made accountable and innocent officers should not face any sort of harassment. The heads of departments and secretaries should obtain and maintain details of property owned by all gazetted officers, he added.
