Tattoos for buddy on this Friendship Day

VARANASI: Tattoos dedicated to friendship are the latest trend in the Holy City for Friendship Day this year. While the markets are decked up with friendship bands, cards and other gifts for Friendship Day, celebrated on the first Sunday of the month August, many youngsters are going for tattoo as a gift for their best buddy.
"Almost 10-12 youngsters are getting tattoo every day for Friendship Day", said Deepankar, a tattoo artist in Sigra locality.Ayush, a 19-year-old employee in a private company, is getting tattoo of his girl friend's name. "My girl friend is more than a friend of mine, so I want to gift this tattoo to her."
Meanwhile the markets are offering a wide variety of gifts including bands for the day. "There are friendship bands from Rs 4 to Rs 4,000 available at the shops," said Ashok Kumar Gogoi, a gift shop owner.
Once again Chinese friendship band is in demand. However, metallic bands are also being liked by many. Besides, cushions, coffee mugs with friend's photo and others are also attracting youngsters. An 18-year-old Harshu Jaiswal, who purchased a photo carved mug, said, "My mom is my best friend as I share all my secrets with her. So I am going to gift this mug to her as Friendship Day gift."
