MBABANE – Tomorrow’s Swazi Telecom Charity Cup semi-finals play-offs have sparked off interesting last minute transfers.

Yesterday, Manzini Wanderers and Manzini Sundowns agreed on a surprise swap deal between Xolani ‘Papi’ Sikhondze and Bobby Carrington. A source close to the teams confided that last night the two players went in opposite directions in a swap deal. The source said that Carrington who resigned this week with intention of rejoining the ‘Weslians’ made the deal easier as the Kappa Boys got a chance to snatch Sikhondze who also showed interest in joining Sundowns.

“A deal has been agreed and the two players will appear in their new teams on Sunday (tomorrow),” the source said.
Manzini Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa could only confirmed a possibility of a swap deal which he said was handled by the team directors.

“We want to sign Papi and on the other side Carrington has resigned stating that he wants to go to Wanderers. I am sure the team bosses are working on that possibility, but they are the better persons to respond,” he said.
He also confirmed that the club was working around the clock to sign Young Buffaloes’ Nhlanhla Gwebu and also recall on-loan goalkeeper Sanda Mathabela from Green Mamba for Sunday’s game. The club has also snatched former Sea Birds player Ndumiso Sikhokho Shongwe.

Sparks are set to fly in the opening games of the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup following interesting signings ahead of tomorrow’s action.
The National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) office was a hive of activity as the four teams involved in the opening games namely; Manzini Sundowns, Mbabane Swallows, Manzini Wanderers and Royal Leopard were in a mad rush to register their targeted players yesterday. Leopard is close to making their biggest catch yet in Moneni Pirates and Sihlangu crafty midfielder, Mxolisi ‘General’ Lukhele. He is set to be registered before the end of the day.

Even though Leopard PRO Frank Hurube said Lukhele was not in their books, insiders at Pirates confirmed the transfer. The move could see Leopard’s Makhosi Mthethwa joining Pirates on top of an undisclosed transfer fee.
“Any team would like to have a player of Mxolisi’s calibre but he is yet to be signed by us,” said Hurube. Pirates interim MC Chairman Bhekisisa Zwane requested not to comment on the issue until this morning.

Wanderers further got the work permits of the duo of Sihle Ndaba and Leonard Bongso. Team PRO Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza said the players would be registered this morning alongside skilful youngster, Sabelo Shongwe.
Mbabane Swallows were expected to add two foreign players into their team, but acting CEO Sibusiso Manana, by last night, said they had not made a decision.
