Referring to the decision by the Bharatiya Janata Party leader Anwar Manippadi to file a defamation suit against her, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Umashree clarified that she had not said that he was involved in the case or not. “But I am not responsible if media reports have taken his name,” she said.
“As a CID inquiry has been ordered into the episode, we have to wait for the probe report,” she said, and adding: “I am not trying to use this episode for political mileage,” she said.
