Pharmacy student ‘attempts suicide’ at college building

A third-year Bachelor of Pharmacy student of the Maharashtra Education Trust allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the Bandra (W) building on Friday.

According to officials at the Bandra police station, Munsifa Asif Kasote, 21, had a backlog of one paper from her second year. On Wednesday evening, the results of the third year were to be declared.

Allegedly, when Kasote found out that she couldn’t clear her backlog, she tried to end her life by jumping from the building at 3.30pm. She survived the fall, but sustained severe injuries. She is now admitted to Lilavati Hospital and her condition is said to be critical. She was still unconscious at the time of filing this report.
