Abhay, Arora among 62 on INLD list

The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today declared its first list of 62 candidates giving representation to youth, women, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (BCs). 

The list, which has the 'blessings' of convicted INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala and released by state INLD president Ashok Arora and senior leader Abhey Chautala here today, contains the names of 15 sitting MLAs while three MLAs have been dropped. "The list also contains names of 13 SCs, 12 BCs, 11 youths and 10 women and is representative of the Haryana society," Arora said.

Abhey Chautala will recontest from the Ellenabad Assembly segment and Arora will defend his Thanesar seat. Prominent among the nominees included Jaswinder Sandhu (Pehowa), Rajya Sabha member Ranbir Singh Prajapat (Nalwa), Kulbir Beniwal (Adampur),Jagdish Yadav (Kosli), former minister Jagdish Nehra (Hodal) and former Deputy Speaker Gopi Chand Gehlot from Gurgaon.

The sitting MLAs, who had been re-nominated though some of them from different constituencies are: Rajbir Singh (Mullana), Parminder Dhull (Julana), Kali Ram (Safidon), Bishan Lal Saini (Jagadhari), Raghbir Singh (Badhla), Ganga Ram (Pataudi), Naseem Ahmed (Ferozepur Jhirka), Mohammand Illyas (Punhana), Subhash Chaudhary (Palwal), Narinder Sangwan (Gharounda), Pardeep Chaudhary (Kalka), Pirthi Singh Numbardar (Narwana), Hari Chand Midha (Jind), Mamu Ram Gondar (Nilokerhi), Dilbagh Singh (Yamunanagar).

However, the sitting MLAs Krishan Lal Kamboj (Israna), Dharam Pal Obra (Loharu) and Krishan Lal Panwar (Rania) failed to find a mention in the list. Raj Singh Mor, husband of sitting MLA Saroj Mor (Narnaud), was allotted ticket from the same constituency while Indri MLA Ashok Kashyap's wife Usha Rani got ticket in his place.

Arora and Chautala made it clear that the party would not enter into alliance with any other party. "However, talks with our natural ally SAD, which was allotted two seats in the 2009 Assembly polls, were on", Chautala said.
