Courtney has been selected to perform as a solo act in the 2014 School Spectacular to be staged at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on December 4 where the performance will be screened live on television.
It has been a great couple of weeks for Courtney who is currently in Year 11 and was elected as a school prefect for 2014-15 this week.
The theme for this year's Spectacular is 'This Is Australia.'
Courtney will be a 'feature artist' and will be performing in front of a capacity crowd at the Entertainment Centre with the Spectacular beamed out to millions of viewers through Channel 9.
Over 500 students auditioned for feature artists roles with only 40 being selected.
The Spectacular has grown into one of Australia's most watched television programs and will boast over 3000 dancers, instrumentalists, singers and choirs.
It will be a busy time leading up to the big moment with Courtney having to travel back and forth and stay in Sydney on occasions for rehearsals virtually every week for 24 weeks.
During this time there will be costumes, make-up and choreography to get down pat.
It is exciting times for Courtney who had auditioned on two previous occasions where she made it through to the final round.
She is a real natural -- she has the looks, personality and talent and with her rich, deep voice setting her apart from her rivals at the auditions.
The nice thing about Courtney is that she is not one of those precocious stars – if she was she would be brought back to normality very quickly by her sisters Hayley, Kelsie and Brooke.
“I try not to think of it at this stage.
“It is going to be a real blast and something that I will remember for the rest of my life.
“I have sung in front of some large audience, but nothing like this.
“My family and friends have given me excellent support and I thank them.”
Courtney is a regular performer around Lithgow and district singing and performing at restaurants, school musicals and charity functions,” she said.
She is also an accomplished musician and dancer and was selected to perform at last year's Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Courtney attends a music program in Sydney – the Talent Development Program and says: “A lot of my music friends have made it through to the Spectacular as well.
“It will be amazing working and performing with them.”
No doubt the popular Courtney will have a host of family and fans travelling to the Entertainment Centre to offer their support while hundreds of other friends will be glued to their TV sets to what should be an brilliant spectacle.
Courtney is the daughter of Fiona and Greg Clarke of Lithgow.
