Television chat shows have always interested viewers, especially, when it comes to those that involve film personalities. Lately, there have been many shows on television, which have targetted the Kannada film fans, by giving them a glimpse of their favourite personalities and their private lives. Incorporating formats and concepts from the popular and successful chat shows that involve Bollywood and Hollywood personalities, Sandalwood fans have their fair share of filmi fun.Here’s looking at some of the shows and their hosts on Kannada television...
Ramesh Aravind
He’s no stranger to talk shows. Already with two famous film-based chat shows to his credit, the actor-filmmaker returns to the small screen with his third show, which promises a different format. Shot in a studio, Ramesh’s show is said to boast a stellar line-up of Kannada film industry’s biggest names. This show plans to give a glimpse of the personal lives of these stars with different people from their lives also being a part of the show. Through their confessions, revelations and secrets, fans can discover newer facets about their favourite celebrities.
Bhavana Belagere
Wife of popular Sandalwood actor Srinagara Kitty and daughter of writer-film personality Ravi Belagere, Bhavana is shortly going to debut as a television host with her show. This show is touted to bring the personal lives of some of Sandalwood’s personalities. The additional factor is that this show is being picturized in the homes of these film personalities, which adds that extra personal touch to it. This yet-to-be-launched show has names like Devaraj, Bullet Prakash, Doddanna, Tharun and Nandakishore Sudhir as guests, as per reports.
Srujan Lokesh
Son of the veteran character artist Lokesh, Srujan is best known for his sense of humour apart from his acting skills. And it was the fun elements that were the highlights of his chat show, which had many popular actors from the Kannada film industry as his guests. The show had the star guests at their comical best, which ensured the show was different from the usual filmi chat shows. The show even had some of the guests do some funny tricks and acts along with the host. And if that wasn’t enough, there were also a lot of gags to accompany the star guest interview, which especially featured satires on politics and current affairs featuring popular comedians from the film industry.
Risheeka Singh
This daughter from one of Sandalwood’s famous film families hosted a show that was much like her own personality — fun and vivacious. On her chat show, she got Sandalwood’s stars, especially the younger ones, to share some of their innermost secrets, because she used to make them feel at ease on the set. Some of the popularly remembered highlights from her show include confessions about relationships, like that of Aindrita Ray and Diganth Manchale. The two young Sandalwood actors not only accepted their relationship, but Diganth even proposed love to Aindrita, which was a welcome change after their denials for many months. There were other candid confessions about break-ups, friendships and fallouts in Sandalwood by stars.
