Yamaha Motor India Sales has posted 36 per cent increase in sales at 50,286 units in July against 37,026 units sold during the same month a year ago.

“This month, we witnessed brisk growth due to our robust product line-up and new launches during the year. FZ Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0, launched last month, have indeed been key in boosting our sales. However, Alpha, launched at the Auto expo, continues to be the key contributor for us,” Roy Kurian, Vice-President (Sales & Marketing), Yamaha Motor India Sales, was quoted in a statement issued on Friday.

“The scooter segment has really taken off and is expected to be the growth driver for the two-wheeler industry. Against this backdrop, we are confident of continuing our growth story in the coming months as well,” he added.

In April last year, Yamaha Motor set up a separate sister concern – YMIS - to cater to the company’s sales and marketing needs and function independently.

The company’s products in India are Fazer (153 cc), FZ-S (153 cc), FZ (153 cc), FZ Version 2.0 (150 cc), FZ-S Version 2.0 (150 cc), SZ-S, SZ-R & SZ-RR (153 cc), YZF-R15 Version 2.0 (150 cc), SS125 (123 cc), YBR 125 (123 cc), YBR 110 (106 cc), Crux (106 cc) and Ray (113 cc), Ray Z (113 cc) and Alpha(113 cc) Scooters.
