'New Zuari bridge foundation by December'

Porvorim: PWD minister Ramkrishna 'Sudin' Dhavalikar Thursday told the state legislative assembly hat the foundation stone for a new Zuari bridge will be laid either in December or latest by January 26 next year.
He said that the government would shortly finalize one of the three alignments suggested by the consultancy and detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared, paving the way for floating a tender at the earliest.
He also said it is not true that the Zuari bridge is on the verge of collapse.
Inspection reports have not suggested anything on those lines, he said and added that Goa College of Engineering has completed an examination of the bridge and will give a status report in a month's time.
Earlier, Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho had criticized the PWD for not expediting work on the Zuari bridge.
