The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority commissioned its new office in Walubay yesterday, centralising all its services at the Wharf area.
“Before FRCA staffs were stationed at different offices in the wharf area. With the commissioning of this new office, all staffs will be stationed at one place. This will enable FRCA to uplift its customer service at wharf area to another level”, chief executive Jitoko Tikolevu said.
“Those who use to come for clearance of cargo or other consignments had to move from one office to another within the wharf vicinity. But now all these services will be provided under one roof. This will save time and money.
“FRCA is grateful to Fiji Ports Corporation Limited for providing office space. The office will also provide space to Ministry of Health and Immigration officials after renovation within two to three months.
“We will soon have new FRCA offices in Nausori and Ba. This offices will be up and running by the end of this year. We are focusing on taking our services to grassroots people and be visible in the community”, Mr. Tikolevu said.
Fiji Ports chief executive Vajira Piyasena said FRCA was an important stakeholder to FPCL and as such the relationships between the two organisations are very strong.
“Our focus is now to modernize and develop the wharf structures which will benefit stakeholders.”
