Corey Moss, previously head of digital at Principato-Young Entertainment, has joined Hearst as SVP of production and development for Hearst Digital Studios.

Moss, to remain based in Los Angeles, will be tasked with expanding Hearst Digital Studios’ scripted and non-scripted digital video business and branded content. He reports to Hearst Digital Studios chief Neeraj Khemlani, who also is co-president of Hearst Entertainment & Syndication.

This month, Hearst Digital Studios unveiled its first Internet subscription video-on-demand channel: CosmoBody, based on the women’s lifestyle magazine known for its sex tips, offering workout videos and other features for $9.95 per month. The media company expects to launch more channels around its magazine properties, as well as SVOD services with outside partners.

At PYE, Moss developed several digital shows for Yahoo projects including “Tiny Commando” and “We Need Help,” along with productions for others including AOL, Blip, Vevo, Machinima and NickMom. Prior to joining Principato-Young in 2011, he was an executive producer of original video at Yahoo, and before that worked at MTV.
