All roads led to Palace Grounds on last day

BANGALORE: The last day of the camp set up by the I-T department saw taxpayers rush to Palace Grounds in large numbers. As many as 5,859 returns were filed at Gayatri Vihar on Thursday. However, only 976 e-returns were filed as the server slowed down due to the heavy load.
Not many people came in after 6.30pm despite the counters remaining open till 8pm in view of the bandh, said department officials.
On the first two days, the camp concluded at 5pm. Officials said they had received no communication on the extension of dates to file returns.
