Carrefour H1 Profit Falls

French retailer Carrefour Group said Thursday that its net income, group share, for the first-half of 2014 fell 51.1% to €441 million from €902 million, as restated, in the same period last year.

Income from continuing operations for the first-half declined 9.8% to €474 million from €526 million in prior year's first-half.

Excluding items, adjusted profit for the first-half rose 16.7% to €274 million from €235 million last year.

Total revenue for the first-half fell 1.6% to €36.76 billion from €37.34 billion in the same period last year. Net sales for the first-half fell 1.6% to €35.87 billion.
