Anandiben’s women empowerment fortnight: Each day named after a women oriented theme

Gujarat government will celebrate first fortnight of the month of August as women empowerment fortnight.

On 1st August, a parade of women police officers has been held from Mahatma Mandir to Sachivalaya in Gandhinagar. Such parades will be held in every district and involve local women cops, NCC women, women in home guards, school/college girls etc. After the programme, certificates will be presented to women who completed self defense training.

2nd August will be marked as Dikari Divas(girl day) by holding events on Beti Bachao theme.

3rd August will see Mahila Svavalamban divas. It will be marked with number of Rakhi melas.

On 4th August, state level Mahila Paani(water) Samiti empowerment convention will be held.

On 5th Women Health day will be celebrated which will cover health check up camps for women.

On 6 August, Mahila Asmita(pride) Divas will be celebrated with a convention of women representatives in local bodies.

7th August will be marked as Mahila Pashu Palak(cattle owners) divas. A list of 1,000 women beneficiaries under Pashu Sahay Yojana will be finalized.

8th August will be marked as Mahila Shikshan Divas. A state level convention of young students will be held at Ahmedabad’s University Convention hall on career counseling and other topics.

9th August will be held as Mahila Welfare day. Local administration will visit mentally ill, deserted women in various institutes.

10th August will celebrate Raksha Bandhan on the theme of Samrasta(equality/inclusiveness/social harmony).

11 August will be celebrated as Mahila Karmayogi divas. On this day women employment fairs will be organized.

12 August will be marked as Mahila Suraksha day. District level legal camps will guide women on the women related laws.

13 August will be marked as Women entrepreneurs day.A state level convention of business women will be held.

14th August will be marked as Mahila Adhikar Divas. Chief Minister will hold maha sammelan at Patan.

Mahila Sashaktikaran fortnight will conclude on 15th August.
