2015 Beta RR 450 Atacama Is Ready for Dakar

With the displacement class of the Dakar rally down to 450cc, it was obvious that more manufacturers could pit their bikes against the big guys, KTM, Husqvarna and Honda. Beta entered the competition and 2014 was a very good and inspiring edition, with the main goal accomplished: that of reaching the finish line. With better factory support from Beta, Boano Racing is now introducing the 2015 Beta RR Atacama, the new Dakar machine for the next year rally.

Building on the previous version which proved enduring enough to cope with the hardships of the South American deserts, Beta’s new Dakar machine is exceptionally light and nimble, with all those who tested it so far reported that the bike handles very well even with a full tank.

The bike actually comes with 4 aluminium tanks, two in the front and two in the rear, and it can load 36 liters (9.5 US gal) of fuel, with most of the bodywork manufactured from carbon fiber and Kevlar. The instrument holder is made from durable aluminium, just like the rear subframe. The instrument braket is ready for a roadbook, ICO backlight, safety antennas, Iritrack and GPS, and the wiring harness has also been redesigned.

A new aluminium airbox has been designed and the air filter now sits in a horizontal position under the saddle. A pro-class electric fan and an oil cooler are also standard equipment for the 2015 Beta RR 450 Atacama. In the rear we can find an Ohlins TTX44MK2 damper and Supersprox rear sprocket, as well. Extra-size pegs, machined foot controls and chain guides are also part of the game.
The engine was prepared by Beta and equipped with a new front brake hose, silicone coolant routes and a Leo Vince exhaust. Boano Racing has not mentioned a price for the bike, but is looking for a new pilot for the 2015 edition of the Dakar Rally. If you think you’re the man to bring greater glory to Beta and Boano, get in touch with them, and maybe you’ll get the chance to take the bike for a spin.
