Many number of Kannada films have their muharat at the Dodda Ganapathi temple in Bangalore. But very rarely do we see a muharat at the brahmi muhurta that falls at 5:30 am. Director Nanda Kishore managed to get his entire team, including lead actor Sudeep, at the unearthly hour on Wednesday morning. “This is my third film and all three had muharats at 5:30 am,“ says a beaming Kishore.
After the muharat, the team left for Hyderabad where the first schedule of shooting will commence on Thursday.
The director, who is awaiting the release of his second film Adyaksha, is leaving no stone unturned to match the Telugu flim Attarintiki Da redi of which the new film is a remake. This is a back-to-back remakes for Sudeep whose previous film Maanikya was a remake of another Te lugu film Mirchi. That film was lavishly mounted and looked every bit costly. With no other option, but to make the new film too look lavish, the budget, sources say, will exceedof Maanikya.
For starters, Nanda Kish ore has ordered 12 Armani suits for the lead actor. Each will cost at least Rs 1 lakh, the director says. Even in the selection of actors, special care is being taken.
“I may be directing a big star like Sudeep for the first time. But people have seen him before in a variety of roles. Even when it comes to actors who have worked with him, we did not want repeti tion. So from the leading ladies, Haripriya and Rachita Ram to actors like Prakash Rai, Devaraj, Sharath Lohitashva and others, nearly 90 per cent of them are acting with him for the first time,“ Nanda Kishore said.
