Arsenal's long running bid to sign Sami Khedira has been given an unexpected boost .

The deal was thought to be off after the North London side rejected the German's wage demands but reports from Spain say that Real Madrid are still keen to offload the midfielder rather than run the risk of him leaving on a free transfer next summer.

Schneiderlin wants out

Sky Sports are reporting that Arsenal and Tottenham are the favourites to sign Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin after the French international became the latest player to decide his future lies away from St Mary's.

Schneiderlin is said to favour a move to Spurs where he would reunite with former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino but Arsenal will do their best to persuade him his future lies with the Gunners.

Sporting Lisbon put William Carvalho up for sale

Portuguese newspaper Record have said that Portuguese midfielder WilliamCarvalho could be heading for North London after he was reportedly put on the transfer market by SportingLisbon .

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is said to be a huge fan of the player and has been scouting him for the last 18 months. Carvalho is said to have a release clause of £35m in his contract but Sporting are desperate for cash to fund new transfers and could be persuaded to lower their price.

Atletico want Santi?

Santi Cazorla is one of three Premier League players on Spanish champions Atletico Madrid's summer shopping list, according to the Daily Star.

The Arsenal playmaker could see his place in the Gunners pecking order move down, meaning Wenger may be tempted to cash in. Atletico are also in for Chelsea's Fernando Torres and Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
