Andhra Pradesh Assembly break-in: Wife said man was severely ill

Hyderabad: Central Zone police arrested P. Ashok Reddy who gained entry into the Assembly premises.

“After gaining entry, he broke open the glass door and gained entry into the Assembly hall. He sat there for a while and came out through entry No 6. After coming out of the building, he walked around the compound till the security officers noticed him,” said Central Zone DCP V. B. Kamalasan Reddy.

Police sources said that Mr Reddy was inside the Assembly hall for half-an-hour and came out into the compound, where he stayed till 9 am.

The security officers, initially thought that he was an employee in the Assembly building.

However, on suspicion, they questioned him and found that he was giving contradictory answers.

They then handed him over to the Saifabad police personnel, who arrested him after booking a case.

“We have booked a case against him under IPC for criminal trespass and for damaging public property,” said Saifabad Inspector P. Ashok.

The police has also got the CCTV footages from the Assembly premises.

Mr Reddy’s wife said that he had been severely ill and had been taken to the hospital, “He quarreled with me on Wednesday and went out at around 5 am,” she said.
