Andhra Bank just a missed call away

Andhra Bank has launched ‘missed call service’ to its customers in the region. The bank also launched AB Jeevan Abhaya triple plus and AB Jeevan Abhaya double plus.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Andhra Bank General Manager G. Ravi Kumar said the customers can call 09223011300 to know balance in their account. One mobile number can be used for three accounts. The customers can register for missed call service through phoine, personal visit to the bank, or at ATM centre.

The new service was expected to bring down waiting time at and the number of hits at ATM centres. It would also help in reducing the work load on staff. On average 300 hits were recorded at the ATMs per day. Of this, 100 were made to know the balance. The service was free, he said, adding there were 12.5 lakh customers in the region and 6.7 lakh have already registered for the SMS service.

The GM said the bank had introduced AB Jeevan Abhaya triple plus and AB Jeevan Abhaya double plus, which were insurance linked savings accounts. Depending upon age, the premium per head was calculated. The account holder can include their parents if their age was less than 60 years under AB arogyadan scheme.

Andhra Bank AGMs NSK Reddy and P. Jeevan Prakash were also present.
