The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the ministry of civil aviation to disclose as to why an application filed by ailing Kingfisher Airlines seeking security clearance for advocate Lalit Bhasin has not been cleared by it. Once a security clearance is granted in favour of the advocate, will he be appointed as a director of the airlines.

The application filed by the Vijay Mallya-led Kingfisher Airlines has been kept pending since March 2012.

For now, the high court has directed the civil aviation ministry to state its stand in respect of the matter on August 5.
