Local tips have lead to the arrest of a suspect in a pharmacy robbery in Erie.

Preston Blake Powell, 29, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after being pulled over by police while driving in the area, according to an Erie Police Department media release.

Powell is suspected of robbing a grocery store pharmacy Monday at the Arapahoe Ridge Marketplace, 3333 Arapahoe Road, police said.

He was arrested after locals “provided leads which ultimately led to the positive identification,” police said.

The Colorado State Patrol and Dacono Police assisted in the arrest Tuesday. Powell was spotted driving in the area of I-25 and State Highway 52 and eventually stopped, without incident, near I-25 and U.S. Highway 66.

He was taken to the Boulder County Jail and booked on suspicion of robbery and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Anyone with information on Monday’s robbery is asked to call Erie police.
