North Delhi Mayor Yogender Chandolia today inaugurated Doctors' Information through website and SMS service at North Corporations Hindu Rao Hospital. Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Mohan Bhardwaj; Leader of House Ms. Mira Aggarwal; Leader of Opposition Mr. Mukesh Goel; Chairman of Health Committee Mr. Gulab Singh Rathore; Director (Hospital Administration) Mr. D K Seth; area councillor Mr. Rajpal Rana Municipal Commissioner Mr. Praveen Gupta; Additional Commissioner (Health and IT) Dr. Dilraj Kaur; Deputy Commissioner Civil Lines Zone Mr. Vijay Singh Bhiduri and many senior officials of other departments were also present on this occasion.
Mayor Mr. Chandolia congratulated the IT department and hospital authorities for rolling out the website and SMS service which provides all the information related to the Hindu Rao Hospital, its doctors, their working hours, location, room numbers and other facilities being provided. He said that with the launch of this system patients need not go from pillar to post, asking about doctors, fees or other services.
"After the launch of this service, the responsibilities of the hospital staff has increased. The services should also improve along with the launch of this website and SMS service," Mr. Chandolia said. He added that sanitation and cleanliness in the hospital should also be improved as a large number of patients from Delhi-NCR and other cities visit the hospital daily. Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Mohan Prasad Bhardwaj also lauded the initiative taken to improve the services and emphasised that publicity of information system be done so that citizens may utilize it in a large number.
Leader of House Ms. Mira Aggarwal said that about 1200 patients visit the hospital daily and the website and SMS service will benefit them. She said that people still prefer government hospitals over private ones and therefore, it becomes their responsibility to improve the services. She also said that in this age of technology and communication, it is very important to keep adapting as the time demands and this service is a step in this direction.
Commissioner Mr. P K Gupta said that the new service will benefit both doctor and patients. He said that now people won't have to waste time seeking information about the doctors and departments concerned.
