Alexander McQueen banned Victoria Beckham from wearing his clothes and threw a potato at Madonna’s head

Lee “Alexander” McQueen’s former lover Archie Reed has spoke out about how the talented fashion designer viewed the high profile clients.

Archie, a fashion stylist who was McQueen’s lover for twelve years, recalls the time when Victoria Beckham (pre her reinvention as a fashion designer) wore a tartan skirt from McQueen’s Fall 2006 collection he was furious, saying “David can wear my clothes but she can’t.”

Archie added, “Lee didn’t rate her as a fashion designer at all, and used to say, ‘What the f*** does she know about fashion? She’s a pop star, and she can’t even sing.’”

With no interest in celebrities or the limelight, McQueen put out the word that Beckham was never to receive any of his garments as “freebies”.

After McQueen’s death in 2010, Victoria paid tribute labelling him “A master of fashion, creative genius and an inspiration”.

Archie also revealed that the troubled designer once threw a baked potato at the Queen of Pop.

At a dinner party thrown by Sir Elton John, McQueen fired the offending food stuff at Madonna.

Archie claimed, “After it hit her in the head, she refused to talk to Lee again, but he didn’t care. He said to me, ‘She’s so stuck up her own backside to worry about anyone else.’”

It seems no one in the fashion industry escaped his silver tongue.

He reportedly quipped Anna Wintour had a “rod up her backside”, and turned against close friend Kate Moss when she went into partnership with Topshop boss Philip Green, calling her a “bitch”.
