It was a rain drenched evening, and as Bhattacharjee began with raga Miya Malhar, which is a monsoon raga, the audience broke into thundering applause.
He continued with the famous bandish, Bole re papihara, which, too, was received with great enthusiasm by the audience.
Pandit Bhattacherjee, who has cut albums like Meditative Midnight and Refusion, was accompanied on the tabla and harmonium by AurobindaBhattacharjee and PradipPalit.
