Latvia Retail Sales Growth Accelerates In June

Latvia's retail sales growth accelerated in June, after easing sharply in the previous month, figures from the Central Statistical Bureau showed Wednesday.

Retail sales rose a calender-adjusted 2.8 percent year-on-year in June, faster than May's 2.4 percent growth, revised from 2.1 percent. In April, sales climbed 10.6 percent.

Sale of food products grew 2.7 percent annually in June and that of non-food products by 2.9 percent.

On a monthly basis, retail sales fell a seasonally adjusted 0.4 percent in June, much slower than May's 2.9 percent decline.

In the first six months of the year, total retail sales grew a calender-adjusted 3.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
