Former Springbok centre Waylon Murray and Blitzbokke Ryan Nell will spearhead the Blue Bulls Sevens team to participate in the World Club Sevens series, next month.

Nell is set to captain the side and his deputy Murray would be aiming to guide the Bulls side to success in the tournament to be held in Ireland and England between August 9-17.

A number of experienced players have been included in the side, to be coached by David Manuel.

"We managed to assemble a very competitive squad and although we would be facing formidable opposition, I am confident that we would do well.

"The team may lack real game time together, but all the guys have played sevens earlier in their careers and have slotted in nicely," Manuel said.

The team includes former Emerging Springbok Sevens sweeper Andre Warner, former SA under-18 Commonwealth Youth Games gold medal winner Carel Swart, Springbok Sevens training squad member Nardus van der Walt and former SA Schools wing, Leroy Bitterhout.

The tournament would kick off at Thomond Park in Ireland from August 9-10 and thereafter move to Twickenham, London from August 16-17.

Teams from Auckland, New York, Saracens, Waratahs, Vancouver Bears, DHL WP, Stade Francais, Daveta Fiji, San Francisco, Munster and Moscow Saracens are set to compete.

The Bulls have been drawn in pool A together with Auckland, New York and Saracens.

Bulls team: Ryan Nell (captain), Waylon Murray (vice-captain), Hein Viljoen, Niel Meyer, André Warner, Carel Swart, Clayton Stewart, Lood de Jager, Enver Brandt, Leroy Bitterhout, Nardus van der Walt, Ganfried May.
