Hyderabad: The controversial Tri color depiction in the first look of `Dirty Politics` has come under fire again as human rights activist, T. Dhangopal Rao, went to court against it in the city. The activist has moved the Hyderabad High Court seeking action against Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat for allegedly obscenely using the Indian tricolour in her upcoming film. He submitted that the actress and producer, Kastoor Chand Bokadia, had intentionally humiliated the national flag by using it obscenely in the film’s first-look poster.
In the poster Mallika Sherawat, who plays the lead role in the film, is seen sitting on an old ambassador car draped in a long tricolour cloth. Not only this, but the poster also shows the Rajasthan Assembly building in the background.
The film is slated to release later this year and is reportedly based on the infamous Bhanwri Devi case. The movie also stars veterans like Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff and Rampal Yadav.
Earlier reports of another case being filed by a Rajasthani political party also surfaced. Bokadia had then said to reporters that he does not want to change the poster.
“There should be a valid reason to change the poster... I am not going to change the poster of my film under any pressure,” he had said.
The actress has been under the radar for insulting a national flag before too. Mallika Sherawat was seen lying on a bed with Brian White, draped in an American flag in a 2011 film `Politics of Love`.
