Ahluwalia to submit Tripura report to Modi
AGARTALA: BJP's national vice-president and Lok Sabha MP from Darjeeling S S Ahluwalia on Tuesday said the issues of cadres of the ruling CPM in Tripura inflicting violence on opposition parties will be taken up in Parliament. A detailed report describing the political brutality of CPM cadres would be submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president Amit Shah, he added.
Before leaving for New Delhi, Ahluwalia said a three-year-old boy was thrown out of his home and his six-year-old sister was tortured in Nirvoypur village, which falls under chief minister Manik Sarkar's constituency Dhanpur in West Tripura, because their father contested the panchayat election as a BJP candidate.

"CPM cadres urinated in a rice-boiler kept in the kitchen and compelled the family members of the BJP nominee to eat the rice. How can a chief minister remain silent?" Ahluwalia asked. "The country is ashamed of such a chief minister," he added.
Ahluwalia led a three-member team, comprising two other senior leaders Tarun Vijay and Satyanarayan Jaitya, on a two-day visit to Tripura to review the post-poll scenario. Panchayat polls were held across the state on July 15.
"Unless the terror ends, the NDA government will take steps to ensure that constitutional and civil rights of each and every citizen are restored. The Manik Sarkar-led government should understand they are not dealing with the UPA government anymore," he warned.
Criticizing Congress, he pointed out that the party has maintained bonhomie with CPM and now party leaders in Tripura and West Bengal have 'sold out' to CPM. "Even an 82-year-old woman was not spared. Her hand was fractured," said Ahluwalia, adding, "We planned to meet the chief minister, but after visiting the villages, we have changed our decision."
BJP, for the first time, secured a majority in five gram panchayats by winning 141 seats.
