Utah

Former Utah offensive lineman Zane Beadles made a record donation to Utah on Monday, giving $750,000 to his college program. His gift is the largest sum ever donated by a former player at Utah. Beadles signed a five-year, $30 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.

Washington State

Former Cougars Aron Baynes and Brock Motum are on Australia’s FIBA World Cup roster. Even without Andrew Bogut and Patty Mills, the Aussies got a pretty good side. Dante Exum, Matthew Dellavedova, Cameron Bairstow… this team could make some noise.

Oregon State

Gina Mizell recaps Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion’s appearance on the Jim Rome Show. (Did you know Mannion roomed with Jameis Winston at the Manning Passing Academy?) Thanks for the Vine, Gina.

UCLA

Matt Norlander of CBS Sports evaluates the UCLA men’s basketball non-conference schedule. The highlights: Battle 4 Atlantis in The Bahamas, Gonzaga at home, Kentucky at a neutral site (can you say Chi city?) and at Alabama.

Stanford

Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today thinks that Jacksonville Jaguars running back Toby Gerhart is ready to carry a bigger load now that he’s out of Adrian Peterson’s shadow. Speaking of Stanford running backs, the New England Patriots claimed Tyler Gaffney off waivers. Gaffney is out for the season with a knee injury and was waived by the Carolina Panthers.

USC

Chantel Jennings examines the USC football non-conference schedule. Fresno State, Boston College and Notre Dame comprise the slate.

Oregon

Chris Johnson of Sports Illustrated believes that Oregon men’s basketball player JaQuan Lyle is the 23rd-best incoming freshman in the nation. He could play serious minutes right away.

California

Cal interim athletic director Michael Williams expects to see progress in Sonny Dykes’ second year as Cal’s head football coach, explains Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Arizona

Great response by our (and SB Nation's) Kevin Zimmerman concerning Buzz Bissinger's article on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles. Zimmerman is gonna be doing big thangs soon.

Washington

Position preview time! Adam Jude looks at the Washington football defensive line. Fall camp starts Aug. 4 for the Dawgs. Additionally, Washington athletic department employee Abner Thomas passed away Sunday at the age of 86.

Arizona State

It is the opinion of Doug Haller that Arizona State men’s basketball might be the best it has been defensively since Herb Sendek has been head coach. Sendek has been watching film of teams that are known for their pressure defense like VCU and Louisville.

Colorado

Let's get some (David) Plati-Tudes from Colorado football's time at Pac-12 Football Media Day. David Plati is as good as they come in the SID world. It's a shame that this is the first time Plati-Tudes has been included in the link roundup. Amazing stuff here.
