Dahod police cracks robbery case

Dahod police cracked the case of the robbery from an angadiya carrier that took place on July 17.Cash amounting to Rs 16.75 lakh was robbed from the carrier on the day early in the morning.

VADODARA: Dahod police cracked the case of the robbery from an angadiya carrier that took place on July 17. Cash amounting to Rs 16.75 lakh was robbed from the carrier on the day early in the morning.
Acting on a tip off, Dahod police had kept a watch on the Fangia crossroads. The police had received information that the jeep that was used as a getaway vehicle by the accused would pass from the crossroads.

Sleuths of the Dahod local crime branch, who had guised as tribals from the Dahod district, spotted the jeep and sought a lift. The vehicle slowed down and police cordoned it. Two persons traveling in the jeep got alarmed and escaped from the spot.
But Mahesh Rathwa, a resident of Mithibor in Chhota Udepur district, was nabbed by the police. A search lead the police to Rs four lakh on Rathwa who confessed that it was a part of the cash that he had robbed from the carrier. The police have launched a manhunt to locate the other accused.
