Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently on cloud nine and the reason behind his happiness is latest release, Kick. The film has done record breaking business in the first 3 days and has become the highest grosser of 2014 till now. Nawazuddin says, “It’s my biggest Eidi to date. I can’t tell how happy I am. People are appreciating my work.” If you’ve seen Kick, you can’t forget Nawazuddin’s evil laugh and his character quirks. Nawaz says the inspiration for this was Manoj Bajpayee’s character from Aks. “Manoj Bajpayee’s laugh was in my mind while shooting the film and I decided to include it in my character and it worked!”
Nawazuddin enjoyed playing a villain on the big screen. But he had a different perspective before choosing the role. He says, “It wasn’t in my mind that I’m going to play a villainous role. I took it just as a character who has his own style. He isn’t bad in life. You see, even he does donations and charity. An actor should take each role as a character. I didn’t play it like a villain.” His favrouite on screen villain remains Premnath. “I’ve seen his Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye. And he was too good in Bobby. I like him as a villain.” Though Nawaz is happy receiving positive response for his negative act, he has decided to not play a similar character in future. “I’ll not do a negative role again. I’m done with it. Now I will explore something new. I won’t do commercial films also. I will do my kind of films. I can do one or two commercial films in a year and that is for the benefit of my small films. I was heartbroken when my film Miss Lovely didn’t get good publicity inspite of being a good film. Now hopefully my films will be publicized. ”
Nawazuddin has worked with the two biggest superstars of Hindi Films. He did Talaash with Aamir Khan and now he has worked with Salman Khan in Kick. About his experience of working with them, he says, “Both are different personalities. Aamir Khan rehearses every scene before giving the shot but Salman Khan is different. He will just do one rehearsal. He is spontaneous. The best thing about Salman Khan is that he’s a cleam hearted person and has a child kind of innocence in him. That’s the reason he connects with people so easily. I enjoyed working with both actually.”
Currently, Nawazuddin is shooting for Sriram Raghvan’s Badlapur where he will be seen with Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi and Yaami Gautam. Guess we will have one more knockout performance from the super actor.
