Domino's Pizza Group Plc (DOM.L) reported a strong first-half performance, led by the sales results in its core market. Looking forward, the company intends to open 40-50 stores in the UK this year as reported earlier.
During the first half, Group pre-tax profit was 24.97 million pounds, compared with 11.56 million pounds, last year. Excluding exceptional items, Group pre-tax profit for the 26 weeks amounted to 24.5 million pounds, with adjusted earnings per share up 7.5% year-on-year to 11.5 pence, from 10.7 pence.
Profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent advanced to 19.9 million pounds, from 7.75 million pounds a year ago. Unadjusted earnings per share for the period of 12.0 pence was up 155.3% on the prior year's 4.7 pence.
Revenue for the six-month period totaled 146.75 million pounds, higher than the previous year's 130.99 million pounds. Half-yearly system sales increased 14.9% to 375.0 million pounds, from 326.5 million pounds in the 2013 period.
