3 Dima Hasao militants nabbed

SILCHAR: In a joint operation, police and Assam Rifles troops nabbed three militants from the Maibang locality of Assam's Dima Hasao district on Monday. Acting on a tip-off, the cops raided the outfit's hideout at Purana Hajong village in Maibang on Monday morning and arrested three militants belong to Hill State United Democratic Front (HSUDF), a newly-floated group of Dimasa militants.
The arrested cadres have been identified as Nora Ali, Greekson Hojai and National Jidung. Security forces found one SBBL gun, one revolver, 37 bullets of .303 pistols, seven bullets of AK-47 rifles, three bullets of revolvers and one grenade on them. The militants are being interrogated at Maibang police station.
Police sources said HSUDF was floated six months ago and the outfit is engaged in extortion activities in Dima Hasao.
