A 39-year-old cab driver from Manipur was allegedly attacked by two brothers inside his room at Nathupur village here on Sunday night, causing him serious head injuries.

Soijamuam Phiamphu, who stays in a single-room rented accommodation along with his wife, two children and a young niece, purportedly entered into an altercation with two other tenants in the same building , Ajit and Sujit, around 11 p.m. over the two allegedly hanging outside his room in undergarments.

“After Phiamphu objected to their behaviour, the two barged into his room with sharp weapons and attacked him. In the scuffle, one of the assailants also sustained injuries,” said Matthew Kamei of the North-East Support Centre and Helpline.
