Ghaghra recedes, still above red mark

The level of Ghaghra is receding but the river has started changing its course.Near Baundi, the river is flowing towards Belha-BehArauli dam.A distance of just 100 metres is left between the river and dam.

BAHRAICH: The level of Ghaghra is receding but the river has started changing its course. Near Baundi, the river is flowing towards Belha-BehArauli dam. A distance of just 100 metres is left between the river and dam.
The river is also moving fast towards the farming land as well. As many as 160 bighas of farmland had submerged. The district administration had not taken remedial measures so far.
The villagers are terrified.
Ghaghra has not yet reached below the danger mark but the water is continuously receding. The Central Water Commission states that the level is receding one centimeter per hour. The level at Elgin Bridge was recorded to be 106.376 on Sunday.
The river is still flowing 30 centimetres above the danger mark. The water waves are moving fast towards Pipra, Murawwa, Munsari, Baundi and Ghurehripur of Mehsi tehsil. The Belha-Behrauli Dam is in danger.
