Drax boss to govern the Bank of England [Grimsby Telegraph (UK)]

(Grimsby Telegraph (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DOROTHY Thompson, chief executive of Drax, Europe's second largest power station, and major customer of Port of Immingham, has been appointed as one of three new non-executive directors to serve on the Court of the Bank of England.

She is joined by Dido Harding, chief executive of TalkTalk Telecom Group, and Don Robert, chairman of Experian.

The trio join the Bank's governing body, having been appointed by the Queen on the recommendation of the Prime Minister and the Chancellor. George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer, said: "All three are highly qualified and experienced people who will strengthen and diversify the Bank's board." A Pounds 75-million investment underway on Immingham Renewable Fuels Terminal is based on serving Drax's biomass needs.
