TOKYO -- Ajinomoto is expected to report an operating profit of about 13 billion yen ($126 million) for the three months ended June 30, down roughly 10% on the year, hit by declining profitability for feed-use amino acids.
Sales reached around 240 billion yen, down from 242 billion yen a year earlier. Starting this fiscal year, the company is deducting commissions from sales at the time the sales are booked instead of when payment figures are finalized. Sales appear to have risen without the accounting change.
