We remain underweight on RIL; wait and watch for launches in telecom space: Gautam Trivedi, Religare Capital Markets

In a chat with ET Now, Gautam Trivedi, MD & Head of Equities at Religare Capital Markets shares his thoughts on the telecom sector. Excerpts:

ET Now: With TRAI recommendations on spectrum sharing and then some decent numbers coming in from Idea as well, does telecom as a sector interest you at all?

Gautam Trivedi: We have been underweight on the sector and that has paid out reasonably well, especially since over the last 12 months, the sector has not done much. Idea, in particular, did have a pretty steep fall, after which it has bounced back a bit.

Also, RIL’s entry into the space will be very keenly watched. We remain underweight on RIL and would advice people to wait and watch on what RIL actually launches.
