TEMPO.CO, Bandung – The Bandung Zoo is targeting to book Rp2.6 billion from ticket sales during the Idul Fitri holiday this year. The target is expected to be achieved in at least 10 days since the first day of first Eid.

"For this year's Idul Fitri holiday we are targeting to have 130,000 visitors in 10 days, with a ticket price of Rp20,000 per person plus a Rp500 red cross donation fee," Bandung Zoo spokesman Sudaryo told Tempo on Sunday, July 27.

To attract visitors, the zoo had launched new exhibits and updated old ones. The new exhibit, he said, is a large aquarium containing a giant fish from the Amazon river, South America.

"The aquarium tank is the size of an APV car. The fish is a five-year-old arapaima that has a length of 1.8 meters," said Sudaryo. In addition, a number of rides and arenas such as the water bikes and water carriages were refurbished.

The Bandung Zoo is located at Jalan Taman Sari, near the Bandung Institute of technology (ITB), Dago.
