    Lead futures gain 0.26 per cent on spot demand, global cues

    Lead futures strengthened by 0.26 per cent to Rs 136.80 per kg on Monday amid demand in the domestic spot market and a firming global trend.

    NEW DELHI: Lead futures strengthened by 0.26 per cent to Rs 136.80 per kg on Monday amid demand in the domestic spot market and a firming global trend.

    At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in August traded higher by 35 paise, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 136.80 per kg, with a turnover of 31 lots. The metal for delivery in July gained 25 paise, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 136.20 per kg in a business volume of 258 lots.

    Marketmen said apart from domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers, the metal's gain in overseas market, supported the upside in lead prices at futures trade.
