Chief Justice Sereno to attend Aquino Sona 2014

MANILA, Philippines–Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno will attend the 5th State of the Nation Address (Sona) of President Benigno Aquino III.
High Court Spokesman Theodore Te in a text message confirmed the Supreme Court chief’s attendance.

Aquino and the Supreme Court have recently been at odds with each other following the High Court’s declaration that parts of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) are unconstitutional. The Aquino government has since appealed the ruling.
