Bikram Club drubs SAI North to enter final

BARAMULLA, July 27: Drubbing SAI North by five goals to three (5-3) via tie-breaker in the semifinals, Bikram Club sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing District Baramulla Hockey Championship, being organized by Hockey Baramulla, under the aegis of Hockey J&K at Degree College ground, here today.
The match ended in (1-1) tie in the stipulated time. First goal was scored by SAI North through Javed Ahmed in 20 minute, however, Devinder Pal Singh of Bikram Club scored an equalizer in the 36th minute through a penalty corner.
The match was decided in the tie-breaker, wherein Bikram Club prevailed over SAI North by (5-3). Jatinder Singh, Ajitpal Singh, Rajinder Singh and Gurdeep Singh scored goals for Bikram Club, while Ali Mohd and Ishfaq succeeded in scoring goals for SAI North, while Ishfaq and Hussain missed the target.
S Tirath Singh, former skipper JKSRTC was the chief guest on the occasion.
The match was officiated by Ranbir Singh, Manjeet Singh, Parmeet Singh, RP Singh Dutta and Popinder Singh.
The final match of the Championship will be played later-on.
Meanwhile, the organizers Hockey Baramulla will organize Narinder Pal Singh Memorial Hockey Championship soon after the Eid festival.
