Now, Chandy speaks of reshuffle in Kerala PCC
KOTTAYAM: Chief minister Oommen Chandy on Sunday hinted at a possible reshuffle in the KPCC.
Addressing the leadership meet of the District Congress Committee (DCC), Chandy said a leadership change was necessary in the party. The leadership change was not aimed at exempting anyone from a senior position, he said, adding that it would not be aimed at any particular person.
He said the reshuffle was not due to loss of faith in the present leadership, but because of the perception that the leadership was not up to the mark.

The KPCC reshuffle has been a periodical process, initiated after assessing the activities of the party. The party should benefit the maximum from the reshuffle, he said.
He also said that such a reshuffle would make the party victorious in the upcoming panchayat and municipal elections.
Chandy's statement has been mainly seen as his effort to intervene in the KPCC matters in the way the current president V M Sudheeran was intervening in the issues of the government. It can also be seen as an effort of Chandy to boost the morale of his group in the party.
In the upcoming party organisational structure reshuffle, the top posts were decided to be left undisturbed. Sudheeran is currently on a private visit to the US.

The meeting was attended by Congress ministers Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, K C Joseph, MPs Anto Antony, Kodikunnil Suresh and Joseph Vazhakkan, MLA.
District Congress Committee president Tomy Kallani presided over the meeting. District level leaders, DCC office bearers, KPCC members also participated.
Tension prevailed at the DCC office here on Sunday as activists of the Youth Congress (YC) and the Congress party exchaged blows with each other.
Earlier, Youth Congress activists tried to block Pratapavarma Thampan, who was returning after inaugurating two rooms of the office. This led to the skirmish in which a few men suffered minor injuries.
