Gonzalez helps Buriram see off Samut Songkhram

Buriram United’s Carmelo Gonzalez yesterday scored the winning goal to secure a 1-0 victory against Samut Songkhram in the Thai Premier League.

As a result, Samut Songkhram are likely to be the first team relegated to League One next year.

Buriram had several chances early but the match remained scoreless at half-time. However, Gonzalez broke through in the 61st minute to score the decisive goal.

Bangkok Glass also claimed three points, upsetting Muang Thong United 2-1.

Goshi Okubo put Bangkok Glass ahead in only the sixth minute before Datsakorn Thonglao equalised in the 54th. But Bangkok Glass snatched victory through Darko Tasevski.

At United Stadium, Chiang Rai and Chonburi drew 1-1. Keita Sugimoto scored for Chiang Rai before Nurul Sriyamkem equalised.

At Tinsulanonda Stadium, Songkhla United won 2-0 against Osotspa after the lights at the stadium went out, causing the match to be suspended for more than one hour.
