Angry locals staged a protest against the police on Sunday afternoon after one person was killed and another critically injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding dumper in Tilpata area of Greater Noida.

GREATER NOIDA: Angry locals staged a protest against the police on Sunday afternoon after one person was killed and another critically injured when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding dumper in Tilpata area of Greater Noida.
The deceased, identified as Narendra (22) was going with his cousin, Devendra (20), to Surajpur when his bike was hit by the dumper.
Police said that the two were going to make some arrangements for a function at Narendra's house and had only travelled a few meters when the accident occurred.
Narendra was crushed under the wheels of the dumper and died on the spot and Devendra was thrown on the road at impact. He is said to be critical and is undergoing treatment in a private hospital, police said. The driver of the dumper fled from the spot.
Angry over the rising number of accidents in the area, locals blocked the road and stopped the police from taking the victim's body for an autopsy. A large police force had to go to the spot to pacify the mob.
